YOUR MASSAGE BOOKING

We run a private massage studio and only accept pre-booked appointments.

This is to help create the best massage experience, a safe and quiet space for everybody.

YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Book your appointment online, or via whatsappp, with payments for your treatment upfront.
  • We operate a 24hr cancellation policy.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

  • Make sure you are as comfortable as possible – Wear loose fitting clothes, try not to eat a huge meal just before your appointment.
  • During the treatment you’ll be asked about the pressure used, if you’re comfy and warm enough, please remember you can speak up anytime if anything changes.
  • Feel free to ask questions at any time, before during and after your treatment.

ARRIVAL AT REMEDY ROOM WEST

  • Remedy Room West is a Glasgow based treatment studio from Philippa’s home in Knightswood, across from Garscadden Train station. Please arrive at your appointment just on time and not before. We need our time between appointments to clean and reset the studio.
  • Knock on the front door and you will be guided through to the treatment studio.
  • Please put your phone on silent, to ensure you get the best out of your time.

BEGINNING YOUR TREATMENT

  • We will talk about: Your consultation form, what you are looking to get out of the treatment, and the areas of the body you want to concentrate on or avoid.
  • We aim to create a peaceful environment with music chosen to enhance your experience. NO WHALE MUSIC here, it’s just not our style.
  • Our treatments do use oils, please let us know prior to your treatment if you have any allergies or concerns.
  • You will be left to undress to your underwear, and get onto the couch, and your therapist will knock to ensure you are ready to begin.

DURING YOUR TREATMENT

  • State of undress? Ideally down to your underwear, beneath a cosy sheet. But if you don’t feel comfortable with that, we can discuss options before your treatment.
  • While you’ll be asked about the pressure used early on in the massage, please don’t wait until then if something doesn’t feel right. We try not to bug you with this question too often during a treatment, so let us know at any point.
  • People may feel anxious about the ‘right’ way to experience a massage, their minds race and they aren’t able to relax in the way they feel they should. This is completely natural, concentrating on the music playing helps or counting to ten with your in and outwards breaths does the trick. But sometimes your mind just needs to be busy, especially if you don’t have much time to yourself. As the massage progresses, these thoughts should hopefully quieten down.
  • Sometimes, people feel obliged to talk during a treatment. Don’t. This is your time to relax, there is no need to make polite conversation. Often times asking questions is a way of avoiding time to yourself, to be quiet and reflect. Just rest.

FOLLOWING YOUR TREATMENT

  • Your will be left to take a moment, and to change back into your clothes. (sit up slowly, you may be sleepy or a little woozy)
  • Drink lots of water for the rest of the day.
  • If you are consuming alcohol later please be aware it may well affect you differently to normal.
